276. “Quite a coup getting Francois Poulenc to do the music.”

The episode:The Days of Our Years,” the short in front of “The Amazing Transparent Man,” ep. 623

The riff: Observed by Mike as lilting and delicate high-pitched voices sing a choral piece over the opening credits of this safety video.

The explanation: Francois (or “Francis”) Poulenc was a French composer of the early and mid-20th century who composed choral, ballet and opera music. He was noted as a member of “Les Six,” a group of six French composers of the time who worked against the prevailing style of romantic composers like Claude Debussy. As for what made Mike choose this particular name for the riff, I have no clue on Earth.

Novelty factor: Seriously? I’m clueless.
